The Promise of a Brighter Future for our Kids Durham Family Court Clinic (DFCC) is an innovative, not-for-profit, charitable, progressive organization that is dedicated to fostering a healthy and safe community by enhancing and supporting the well-being of children, youth and families who have, or may have, involvement in the legal system. DFCC has been serving Durham Region for more than 25 years. Agency programs include multi-systemic counselling services and therapeutic academic programs for at-risk youth, violence prevention workshops for elementary and high school students, clinical assessment services for youth before the courts and family mediation. DFCC serves thousands of children, youth, and families each year, and our work often puts the agency front and centre with issues of domestic violence, poverty, addiction and children's mental health issues. Funds raised through DFCCs Seeds of Hope campaign assist at-risk children and youth. Supported activities help establish the necessary building blocks to improve life opportunities, develop healthier attitudes and behaviours in order to reduce the risk of victimization and/or being in conflict with the law.
